Thge drive south from Newcastle wasn't too bad as we went on the freeway as far as we could, anything to avoid the Sydney traffic. The drive from Sydney to Wollongong wasn't bad, very built up, give it time the two will join.
Wollongong was just huge and amazing ! We headed for a campground on the southside of the city but changed our mind when we arrived and found what they charged. We made a great decision and headed for a little town further south called Berry. It would allow us to travel around and use the place as a base. The showgrounds there was great, power, water, showers and toilets and plenty of grass area for $15 a night. We ended up staying there a week.
